Places to Go

Sharing some of the boys' (ages 4 & 6) favorite spots in the Elk Grove area:

My Gym Elk Grove: Grade A.  We were members for over 3 years, and this place has been a one of our synonymous "gyms."  We have "old gym" (daddy's work), "new gym" (where daddy works out), and "My Gym."  My Gym's classes are leveled so that each age group has a customized fitness plan that increases at just the right amount.  We've had 3 birthday parties here and I totally recommend this place!

Chuck E. Cheese: Grade B.  Everyone's familiar with this place, but we give the "B" grade due to lack of privacy for birthday parties.  Service is decent, and this is a great place to spend a couple hours (and money).

Laguna's Awesome Party Palace: Grade B-.  Clean, tidy bounce area, with a small party room.  Did not have the greatest experience when switching day/time of a party, so we definitely recommend any changes be made in person.

UA Laguna Village 12: Grade A. Every summer, semi-recent movies are shown for $1.  If you are a Regal club member, you can get $2 small popcorn on Tuesdays.

Sacramento Zoo: Grade A.  Animal exhibits are great.  We took advantage of the Wells Fargo Wednesdays, where you get one child free for each paid adult.

Wackford Community Center: Grade A-.  They offer a variety of classes, sports leagues, activities, and events.  We're in our 4th youth league (2 junior nba and 2 tee ball) and the kids learn team work and the basics of the game.  With a reasonable fee, uniform, trophy, and team picture is included.  We even had a birthday party here!  It was great.  We rented the gym for an hour and a room for 2 hours.  Only giving it a 'minus' because as my husband's first time coaching, some aspects were a little uncoordinated and could have ran smoother.
